Order Processing Times:

  • Made-to-Order Items:
    • Handmade Lampshades: 1–2 weeks
    • Archie Rocket Lamps: 4–6 weeks

  • In-Stock Items:
    • Please allow 4–10 business days for processing.

Once your order is ready to ship, you’ll receive an email with real-time tracking information. Please allow additional time for delivery as outlined below.

 

Shipping Method

We take great care in packaging and shipping our products, using secure, fragile-appropriate packing methods to ensure they arrive safely.

Your order is fully insured during transit. Once dispatched, you’ll receive a notification with a tracking number so you can follow its journey.

Signature on delivery is required where available.

 

Shipping Rates

  • Australia & New Zealand:
    • We offer free standard shipping on eligible orders that meet our free shipping threshold (unless stated otherwise).
    • For orders below this threshold, a discounted flat-rate shipping fee applies, calculated based on your delivery location and shown at checkout.
    • Shipping offers and rates may change at any time without prior notice.
  • Worldwide Shipping:
    • We offer free standard international shipping on eligible orders that meet our free shipping threshold.
    • For orders below this threshold, we offer a discounted flat-rate international shipping option, with rates varying by destination country. Calculated based on your delivery location and shown at checkout.
    • Shipping rates and offers may change or end without prior notice.
  • Express International Shipping
    • Express International shipping option is available at checkout. Please note this does not shorten our order processing times (see above).

Import Duties & Taxes:

  • United States:
    • We ship all US orders DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) via Australia Post, with all customs duties and taxes prepaid by Retro Duo. There are no surprise fees or extra charges when your order arrives.

 

  • Canada — Customs & Duties: 
    • Our lamps and lampshades are fully handmade in Australia and, when shipped to Canada, generally qualify for duty-free entry under the CPTPP trade agreement.
    • Customers may still be required to pay GST or HST (depending on province), along with any carrier or brokerage fees on delivery. These charges are typically much lower than standard import duties.

 

  • UK & EU:
    • Buyers are responsible for any import duties, VAT, customs charges, or tariffs incurred once the shipment reaches your country. These are determined by your local customs authority and are not included in your order total.

 

Unpaid Customs Charges - Return to Sender

If an item (or parcel) is returned to us because customs duties, VAT, or import taxes were unpaid, and it arrives back in its original condition, we will refund the item price only. Please note that any shipping costs, handling fees, and transaction fees will be deducted from the refund.

Please note:

    • If your order qualified for free shipping, the actual shipping cost we incurred will be deducted from your refund.
    • Any return shipping fees or customs charges we are billed will also be deducted.
    • If the parcel is not returned to us (e.g. it is abandoned or destroyed by customs), no refund will be issued.

 

Packaging Compliance (Germany)

In accordance with the German Packaging Act (VerpackG), we are registered with the LUCID Packaging Register under the registration number: DE4244969905481.
Our licensed dual system operator for packaging recycling is Recycling Dual GmbH.


Estimated Delivery Time

  • Australia & New Zealand:
    • Delivery to metro areas typically takes 4–10 business days; remote or regional areas may take up to 2+ weeks. Tracking information will be provided once dispatched.
  • Rest of the World:
    • International delivery times vary:
      • Metro areas: typically 10–25 business days
      • Non-metro areas: 15 - 25+ business days

 

Delivery Methods & Locations

We work with trusted carriers and third-party logistics partners to ensure reliable delivery, including to remote locations. Orders are delivered to the address provided at checkout or updated through our Customer Care team.


Delivery Failure

Please double-check your delivery address before placing your order. If an item (or parcel) is returned to us due to an incorrect address, and it arrives back in its original condition, you will be responsible for any additional return shipping fees, and we will refund the item price only. Shipping costs, handling fees, and transaction fees will be deducted from the refund. Any redelivery charges will also apply if re-shipment is requested.

Payment

Full payment, including any applicable shipping and taxes, is required before your order will be processed.


Cancellations

We accept cancellations within 48 hours of placing your order. To cancel, simply reply to your Order Confirmation email or contact us via our website form. A full refund will be issued within 14 days if the cancellation is confirmed within this timeframe.
